At 4:45 am the London Fire Department (LFD) along with members of the London Police Service (LPS) responded to an abandoned warehouse on Littlewood Drive near Hwy 401 and Colonel Talbot Street.
The former ABC Truck pretreatment building was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
“Crews did a great job of containing it to the property,” says LFD District Chief Colin Sewell.
“We had to run a bus here as there are no taps in the area, so we can fulfill it with the water bus. Crews are still shutting down the hotspots. Fire inspectors have been to the scene and we will be working with the LPS moving forward as this will be a police-sponsored event here.”

(Courtesy: London Fire Brigade) An LPS police detective was investigating on Sunday afternoon at the scene as police contained the scene. Almost simultaneously with that fire, LFD was dispatched to 126 Bonaventure Drive for reports of a vehicle fire. When crews arrived, they used foam to extinguish the car, which spread to a vehicle next to it in an adjacent parking lot. “They were able to put them out quickly and there was no extension to any of the townhouse complexes and a fence caught on fire as well,” says Shewell. After the pair of vehicles were towed away Sunday morning, you could see the wreckage in a pair of charred parking spaces. An LPS detective went door to door asking anyone with photos, videos or information. Some residents, who did not want to be named, say it’s no surprise the incident happened in their neighborhood or to the owners of the vehicles. London police told CTV News there were no injuries in either fire, both of which are being treated as suspicious. Gavin Dell of LPS. At the same time these calls came in, LFD also received a call for assistance from Middlesex-London EMS on the banks of the River Thames in the Riverbend area. “There was one person in danger,” Shewell says. “The individual had a friend with them that we are able to contact our communicators and direct our crews. We partnered with the Middlesex Center Fire Department (MCFS) to bring a positive end to this. We managed to remove the person with MCFS being the lead and London Fire assisting.” Shewell praised his communications officers for being able to handle the big events happening at once and dispatch crews accordingly.
